Daniel Fulco, PhD, ISA

Daniel Fulco, PhD, ISA, is a member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), the leading professional personal property appraisal association. He has over 10 years of museum experience in fine art across many different cultures and periods, with specific expertise in American and European art.
Dr. Fulco served as the inaugural Agnita M. Stine Schreiber Curator at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (Hagerstown, MD, 2017‒24) and Assistant Curator at the New Britain Museum of American Art (New Britain, CT, 2004‒07). He also held positions at the Phillips Collection (Washington, DC), the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art (Hartford, CT), and the Hill-Stead Museum (Farmington, CT). Dr. Fulco curated numerous exhibitions, including Joshua Johnson: Portraitist of Early American Baltimore (2021‒22), which was supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Art Dealers Association of America Foundation.
Dr. Fulco received his BA in Art History from Connecticut College (New London, CT) and PhD and MA degrees in Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a Distinguished Fellow (2007‒10), German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Fellow (2011‒12), and Walter Read Hovey Memorial Fund Scholar (2012‒13). Dr. Fulco published a book on European Baroque art, Exuberant Apotheoses: Italian Frescoes in the Holy Roman Empire, Visual Culture and Princely Power in the Age of Enlightenment (2016), as well as book chapters, exhibition catalogs, and articles on various art historical topics.
In his free time, Dr. Fulco enjoys traveling, reading, classical music, and jazz.
